If You Give a Cat a Cupcake

Mrs. Peterson read us the book If You Give a Cat a Cupcake, which we loved. We then helped Mrs. Peterson and Mrs. Magner make cupcakes from scratch. We measured and mixed all of the ingredients. We had so much fun that we didn't realize that Mrs. Peterson and Mrs. Magner were mixing in language arts and math too. They taught us that 4 tablespoons of butter makes 1/4 cup. They were amazed when they asked us how many tablespoons would be in three 1/4 cups and we said 12! We all knew how to read the words "cup" amd "cake," and we were very excited to separate the word cupcakes into chunks and realize we can read that word too.

Our finished cupcakes were YUMMY!

We made our April placemats and love how they turned out.

We loved making a predication about how many mini tape dispensers were in the estimation jar. Thank you to Leticia and her family. We are already looking forward to our next estimation jar.

We always love spending time with our 4th grade buddies. We created beautiful Spring cards with them. The 4th graders are going to take the cards to a local assisted living center and give them to some of the elderly residents. We also loved sharing how much we cherish time with our own grandparents, and we hope our cards brighten the residents' day!

We always love our Guest Readers, and this week we hosted Mrs. Oliva who shared some Star Wars books with us.

Don't forget to ask us about STEM Clusters. We will be going to STEM Clusters on four F days, and our classes include BeeBot Robots, Makey Makey, Not a Box, Take It Apart Party, Legos and How High, How Far, How Fast? We came back and exclaimed that STEM Clusters are awesome, and we can't wait until the next F day!
